Thursday's Miscellany

1. So you know how The Sky is Everywhere? So am I! Well, not everywhere....just, you know, some places. What I mean is that I'm thisclose to finishing the latest round of ALL THESE LIVES revisions. There's a specially labeled post-Revisioning pack of Twizzlers reserved for the occasion, and if you hear an excited shriek, followed by lots of clumsy stomping? That's me celebrating. Until then, I might be quiet, but I am around.

2. Speaking of The Sky is Everywhere, it's now out in paperback! I blogged about it when I first read it (here) and, months later, I think there might be two people in the entire world I haven't recommended this book to. (The Pope's been a bit hard to get a hold of, and Clooney's not much of a reader, you know?)

3. Which cover do you like better?

I think both are stunning!

4. Speaking of good books, I recently read this:

Based on some stellar recommendations, I expected to like this book. As it turns out, I ended up liking AMY AND ROGER'S EPIC DETOUR very much. I love a good road-trip book, and this one was something special. There's also something very Sarah Dessen-esque (high praise!) about it: well-developed characters that feel like good friends, and a romantic and believable journey toward self-discovery. If I ever road-trip across America, this book shall be my guide book.

5. Would you like to win either the paperback of THE SKY IS EVERYWHERE or AMY AND ROGER'S EPIC DETOUR? Please tick yes or no. (I can't explain why, but saying this at totally inappropriate times tickles me with delight.) Actually, all you have to do is comment on this post and one randomly selected winner will receive a copy of the book of their choice!

What's your go-to THISBOOKISTHESTUFF recommendation? Happy Thursday! :)

I keep hearing such good things about Sarah Dessen...I think I need to check her books out! I saw a few when I was in the library the other day.

Right now I'm reading THE VESPERTINE and it's very good. Never was a fan of historical fiction in the past, but Saundra Mitchell may have changed me! And the cover is sick.

Also, Lee Nichols' BETRAYAL is fantastique! ;) Read it in one day.

    Happy revising, Sarah!

I've never heard about the Sky Is Everywhere. I might have to look that one up. (Unless I win it, of course.)

I've been reading Gail Carriger. Soulless. Fun, historical, paranormal sort of book.

Love the first cover - simple and striking.

And major congrats on getting almost to the end of revisions! It's a long, long tunnel, you're leaving behind. Spare a thought to the rest of us still stuck back there in the dark. :)

Book giveaways are the BEST! I've got to do this on my blog. My readers need some LOVE from me, for goodness sake. And, Girl, I know Clooney's been a no-show for all my book-club invites too.
